Long Night

So on most Fridays, we have to stay at work super late for inconceivable reasons. Basically, we are all waiting other platoons to report that their 100% on their sensitive items which has absolutely nothing to do with us. Really the only thing it does is hamper our morale and getting drunk that night that much better. This brings me to an interesting topic. Unions. Now, we don't have unions in the military because we are serving our country. Because we don't have unions, we can get screwed over as much as our supervisors want because, in the military, if someone outranks you, they are automatically smarter, faster, and better at critical thinking. Which is all totally bullshit but hey, I guess its the price you pay to serve your country.

Why is it that the senior NCOs are always smarter and more high speed than the officers?

my friend is in a delicatessen union. they're literally allowed to take as long as they want with an order and not get fired.

I want to be in a union. :(

I have always been a union member since I first entered the workforce. I think unions are awesome and people forget all the things they have fought and won for us, at least in Australia, things like sick pay, minimum wage, collective bargaining, unfair dismissal laws etc. etc.

As far as I'm concerned the ruling elite don't like unions because they threaten them, so they try and convince the plebs that they are evil etc. But its BS, the unions are the champions of the working and lower-middle classes.

Always one of the fascinating facts about the service. It really can round out two ways (but tends only to one side). You can get an absolute ****** ****** of a ******* ******** (i.e. the common example) or you can get a chill guy who actually really helps you out.

Hope you feel better, man.

Honestly if you take a lot of the going ons from the military and place it in any other context, people would think you're talking about a cult. Uniforms, obedience, endless chanting etc.
